Are you looking for simple, not too obvious ways to grow your online business? If so, you’re in the right place! I’m sharing 5 tips to grow your online business. It doesn’t matter if you are a coach, copywriter, graphic designer, photographer, or a website designer. Whatever service you offer, these 5 tips I’m sharing below are going to help you grow your business!

Let’s dive in!

#1 Create Valuable Content

The number one thing you’ll hear most self-proclaimed social media strategists say is, “you have to post consistently on social media to see results.” Sure, posting consistently on social media is a strategy, but it’s not going to do anyone any good if it isn’t valuable. I love a good quote or meme, but if you want to attract your ideal client to your brand, you have to offer them something. I bet you have so much to offer and anyone would be lucky to be working with you, but how will they know how truly invaluable you are to work with, if you don’t show them.

This tip isn’t just for Instagram or social media, this goes for your website as well. Write about topics on your blog that will be helpful to your ideal client. You want someone to say, “Tiffany was so helpful and knowledgeable on this topic, and this was just FREE. Can you imagine what she would share with me if I started working with her!?

#2 Nurture Relationships

It is never a bad decision choosing to nurture the relationships with your existing customers. Your current clients already know you, like you, and trust you – so if you keep them happy they aren’t going anywhere! And if they like working with you, you can most likely get them to upgrade their services or try out some of the other things you have to offer.

I started working with a client about 4 years ago in my marketing agency, and it started off very small. I was publishing 1 blog post and sending out 1 email to their email list. I focused on nurturing the relationship with them and now my little tiny marketing company is their “Rented VP of Marketing”. We handle all of their marketing needs whether it’s designing collateral for their business, branding for their business, all email marketing and copywriting, and we even re-branding their website!

#3 Develop a Referral Program

Word of mouth is by far one of the best ways to get new clients. Your clients already love working with you, so why wouldn’t they want to share their secret weapon (you) with other businesses? Because they want to know what’s in it for them? Sure, they might tell a friend or two about this amazing person they started working with, but there’s nothing pushing them to keep the conversation going. Word of mouth is the cheapest form of advertisement. If one of your customers is bringing in other customers for you, that’s major $$$ saved.

#4 Make More Calls to Action

Calls to Action are so important because they tell the user what to do next. They are the transitions between the phases of a customer’s journey. If you’re providing killer content, and then the story ends. The reader is going to be confused and think, “okay, now what?” This is your chance to get your audience to take action.

Calls to action don’t have to be complicated or overly salesy. The easier you make it for your customers to take action, they are more likely to do so. Some examples of calls to action for your Instagram would be:

  • Click the link in your bio to learn more about business tips
  • Write a ️‍🔥in the comments if this resonates with you
  • Which tip did you find the most helpful? Let me know in the comments!

Social Media is not the only place you should be placing calls to action. You can add them in your blog posts, podcast episodes, your email newsletters, and along your website pages. Wherever you have copy, you should have a call to action. Want someone to listen to a podcast episode to deep dive into the topic you’re writing about? Include it Remember, we want you to tell us what to do next!

#5 Have More Sales Conversations

Let’s face it, our small online businesses depend on sales to keep us afloat. But why are sales conversations so scary? Gone are the days of cold sales pitches, so don’t worry about having a long script memorized. But, potential customers want to build relationships and form real connections before they buy something from someone. If you’re selling a service, especially a high-ticket service, it is much more effective to get on the phone and make the sales call. As a business owner, no one knows your product or service better than you do. So telling someone about your business should be easy! Remember, you are smart and you are capable! You’ve got this!

Are you ready to conquer the world and start growing your online business? I truly hope these tips will help you accomplish the goals you set for yourself and your business.
