Remote work is here to stay and honestly, I’m thrilled about it! With just a laptop and a reliable Wi-Fi connection, you have the power to ditch the cubicle and work from the comfort of your own home, a cozy cafe’, or even the beach! Whether you are looking for a part-time job or a full-time career, the remote world is your oyster!
According to Buffer’s 2023 State of Remote Work survey, 98% of the remote workers they surveyed said they would like to work remotely at least some of the time for the rest of their careers and they would recommend remote work to others. And the biggest benefit of remote work (that we can all agree on) is flexibility. Whether it is flexibility in how to spend your time, where you choose to live, or where you choose to work, it’s nice to have the choice!

Freelance/Contract Work
The beauty of remote work is you don’t have to stick to a traditional 9-5 if you don’t want. Freelancing and contract work is great to give you flexibility and the opportunity to try out different projects. I first started working remotely as a virtual assistant work, until I started getting projects as a marketing manager.

The world of remote work hasn’t just opened doors for me—it’s shattered the glass ceiling of what’s attainable. Instead of being boxed in by traditional roles, I’ve been given the freedom & flexibility to raise my family, move half way across the world, and still be able to thrive, while working remotely. It sounded like a wild dream, but remote work made it my reality.
If I can leave you with one piece of advice, it would be this: If you’re even slightly curious about the idea of working remotely, go for it! Dive in, learn all you can – and see if it can give you a life full of virtual freedom.
Not sure where to start? Don’t sweat it! My starter kit has got all of the good stuff to get you started.
Best of luck out there and happy hunting!
